October 30, 2013... Greet The Partial Sunrise...
  Public Observing, Irving Nature Park

On the morning of Sunday, November 3, 2013, the sunrise will look a little different. The moon will be rising in front of the sun, blocking nearly 40 percent of its light in a partial solar eclipse. For the next 70 minutes, the moon will gradually return the sun to us until the eclipse ends at 8:15 AM.

It is important to note that it is very dangerous to look at the sun - especially during a partial eclipse - as this can cause permanent eye damage, unless you are wearing the proper eye protection.

Weather permitting, join local members of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada to observe the partial eclipse in a safe manner through filtered telescopes and eclipse glasses from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM at the Irving Nature Park in Saint John, NB.

Parking will be in the lot near the Interpretive Shelter, and observing will be in the upper parking lot.
